Our Philosophy is Quite Simple:
We “build character, mind, and body” through the love of basketball so that it becomes engrained in the character of our youth. This has been the philosophy of The Sky Is The Limit Basketball since its existence and is often a wakeup call for youth that introduces them to the keys to success, both on and off the basketball court.
The Sky Is The Limit Basketball was founded in 2001 by Adonus Burton, who firmly believes that his experience as a former collegiate and professional athlete is the perfect platform from which to be heard and to teach youth the fundamentals and advanced skills they need to be competitive. The youth that participate in the program have a huge advantage because they are learning skills on a higher level under the guidance and tutelage of professional and skilled athletes.
“The intense practices, drills, and attitude adjustments that I have experienced over the years have taught me the mental toughness, work ethic, and determination it takes to succeed and be competitive at a very high level. Being able to share my knowledge with youth and see them develop their skills has made it all worthwhile.”
Adonus is a former All-American, First Team All-State selection, and "Top 10" Alabama high school prospect at St. Jude High School in Montgomery, Alabama. He was recruited by over 100 Division I college programs. He enjoyed a successful career at Georgia Southern University after transferring from Auburn University. He played professionally in Peru, New Zealand, France, and was invited to the Golden State Warriors veterans camp after competing well on their team at the NBA Summer League at Loyola Marymount in Culver City, California . He earned MVP honors in Peru (Club de Regatas) and New Zealand (Otago/Wickliffe Press), and received All-Star honors in France (Toulouse Basketball Club).
Adonus received a Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA) degree from Georgia Southern University and is a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
"All of the intense workouts and attitude adjustments have truly made me appreciate the value of hard work and maintaining a good attitude. Being able to share my experiences as a former college and professional athlete with youth has made it all worthwhile."
